Beauty in the Shadow. A photo essay Collaboration.

I stopped by Los Angeles on my way home to Australia in October.

It was the first time I'd been to the city for a reason other than modelling, this time it was to visit two of my favourite embodiment teachers of 2018, Ruth Gouldman and S-Factor.

Whilst there, I made time for one shoot with my friend Dane Peterson.

With big old film cameras on slow exposures and vintage silks styled by Dust and Fog, this is what we created.

“Meet me,

Won’t you meet me here?

I just want to be seen.

Seen here,

In my truth,

In my wholeness.

Not just the strength and the happiness,

But the softness, the fear, the vulnerability, the desire.

The desire to be me,

Whole, free and alive.

Breaking to be reborn.

I must meet all parts of myself

To become whole

And I must be seen in this.

From here,

I can breathe more freely

I can relax into presence

Relax into life.

I can speak, move, create and love

Senses open.

This is being truly alive.”
