This is one of my favourite winter breakfast recipes for slow mornings when I want something creamy, delicious and nourishing. Packed with nutrients, the oats, maca, cinnamon and flaxseeds are all grounding and soothing for the digestive system, maca is also good for balancing hormones, the raspberries give a fresh kick of Vitamin C and antioxidants and the nuts and chia give are a good protein boost.
1 tsp Maca powder
1 tblsp Ground Flaxseed
A dash of Cinnamon
1 tbsp chia seeds
Muesli (My current favourite is a mix of oats, sunflower seeds, brazil nuts, hazelnuts, chopped dates, almonds and barley flakes)
Tiny pinch of salt
A few tblsp of hot water or plant milk
Coconut or natural yoghurt
1 tbsp Almond butter
1. Add the maca, muesli, cinnamon, chia seeds and salt to a bowl and pour the hot water or milk (I like 50/50) over the mix to just cover it and leave to soak for 5-10 minutes
2. In a pot on the stove (or in the microwave) heat the frozen raspberries until they become a warm sauce
3. Top the soaked muesli with a few spoons of yoghurt, almond butter, the hot raspberry sauce and an extra dash of cinnamon & enjoy!
